Barista

We are looking for a Barista to join our lovely portway house cafe. This role will be mainly focussed on making the best coffees and maintaining and looking after all coffee equipment. As a barista, you will prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea, desserts and other foods in our cafe. Our baristas are responsible for explaining to customers our drinks menu, making suggestions based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders.

Job responsibilities include creating and producing all menu items to the highest standard.

• Multi-task responsibilities with ease and work as part of team.
• Ensure that the kitchen is in a clean and tidy setting.
• Epos till system, cash handling
• Understand the need for excellent presentation.
• Comply with all health and safety guidelines.
• Maintain high hygiene standards.

Coffee Experience

We are looking for someone who has worked within speciality coffee previously with a minimum of 1 year and has a true passion for coffee Retail coffee is an important element of sales so understanding the different coffees we have available to sell and being able to speak confidently to this is important Can easily dial in the grinder and adjust throughout the day based on different espresso offerings. Familiar with all brewing processes Coffee machine and grinder maintenance knowledge Great milk texturing and understanding brew ratios and extraction

Equipment la Marzocco coffee machine 3 group

Have systems in place to avoid wastage of product with both food and beverage, following and adjusting par levels where needed in line with business peaks and lows

Requirements:

Experience in the customer service or hospitality industry Availability that meets the needs of our cafes Full Time: 35-40 hours per week, 4-6 days of availability required and must be available to work 2 peak days (Peak days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday) Weekend and holiday availability preferred You must be authorised to work in the UK

The Ideal Candidate for us would be someone with previous work experience as a barista (preferably 1 year minimum).

Salary: £10.50-£11.50 per hour
