The West Kent Drug and Alcohol Wellbeing Service is seeking to employ a Drug and Alcohol Health and Wellbeing Nurse for the Tunbridge Wells service â€" this will include some outreach work in a pharmacy setting.

The Health and Wellbeing Nurses will focus on improving the health of service users through health assessments, blood borne virus screening, and vaccinations, supporting the safe provision of opiate replacement therapy, and the facilitation of community alcohol detoxification.

Alongside a focus on improvements in the health of service users, the successful applicants will also be a resource to colleagues who support service users with complex additional needs.

The successful applicants will be part of an established and dynamic service which aims to help people improve their lives. As well as providing direct interventions with service users, the successful applicant will contribute to the ongoing development of the nursing role in the service.

The service expects successful applicants to develop their own areas of specialism in addition to the core nursing duties, and support will be available to help with this.

The role will include wor king flexibly maintaining the most appropriate level of service provision; this may include some evening or weekend working.

The post holders will be Registered Nurses from either General (Adults) or Mental Health Nursing with a current NMC registration. Relevant experience in the substance misuse field would be a benefit, but the willingness to embrace and develop this role will also be of importance.

  • This role currently attracts a CGL Recruitment & Retention Allowance details of which would be discussed at the point an offer of employment is made.
The successful post holders will need to undertake a DBS check at Enhanced Level
