The southampton lung cancer multidisciplinary team (MDT) is committed to delivering a quality efficient service for diagnosis and or treatment for patients from the local and regional areas. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team for 2 years and is looking to recruit an innovative experienced nurse to join our team working with colleagues to support patients across the cancer journey. The aim is to deliver high quality care for patients and families during investigation, at diagnosis, during oncological treatments and beyond, liaising with other services and working across boundaries to provide seamless care.

You will work with the clinical nurse specialist team and respiratory clinical teams with your own caseload attending clinics (medical, chemotherapy and radiotherapy) acting as a key worker and running nurse led clinics or drop in sessions. This post requires current experience at Band 5/6 in appropriate specialist area. Experience in oncology nursing is highly desirable. You should have excellent communication skills (including telephone assessments) and be able to demonstrate insight and excellent assessment skills for the needs of patients along the cancer journey to maintain safety and provide a good patient experience.
