Manage the science press team to create media coverage and public understanding of our scientific research and to oversee prompt responses to all media enquiries.
Communicate a wide range of issues surrounding the causes, treatments and prevention of cancer
Manage major communications projects and respond to challenging reputational issues
Join the most widely recognised br! and in the UK Charity sector

We employ around 3,500 ambitious people across our large, complex and diverse charity. Our press office is highly regarded by the media and has won CIPR, PR Week and Communique Awards. The team is now looking for a Science Press Manager to enhance its excellent communication skills, innovative strategies and determination to get our powerful stories into the public domain to ensure that we continue to tell the story of Cancer Research UK and our science.

To take on this exciting challenge, you’ll have…

Extensive experience in journalism and/or communications and excellent knowledge of the media
A proven ability to manage people and complex projects
A good understanding of cancer research and information
Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas in an engaging manner
You’ll be involved in writing and editing copy on diverse areas including basic science, health information, cancer treatments and drug development. You’ll have the opportunity to develop our press strategy and contribute to our vision and goals.
