We are recruiting a Research Nurse for the European Society of Cardiology EUROASPIRE IV survey ( www.escardio.org/euroapsire ) of cardiovascular preventive care at general practices in North West London based in Professor David WoodÂ's group at the International Centre for Circulatory Health, St MaryÂ's Hospital, Paddington. The role will be to identify primary care practices and recruit them to the survey; identify patients in collaboration with lead GPs; review medical records; conduct patient interviews and take physical measurements including breath carbon m! onoxide, weight and height, waist measurement, blood pressure,! and take blood for laboratory analysis. You will be responsible to the Research Nurse Coordinator. Training will be provided.
Applicants should be a registered general nurse with a bachelorÂ's degree and considerable clinical experience. Candidates are required to possess an understanding of cardiovascular disease risk factors and medications. Experience of working in clinical research and general practice is desirable. Candidates need to be highly self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of the team. All applicants must be fluent in English.
This is a part-time post, fixed-term for 4 months from 10 January 2014 to 10 May 2014. The research is based at the International Centre for Circulatory Health, at the St MaryÂ's Hospital Campus of Imperial College London.
