CLASP International is seeking Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurses, S! pecial Education Teachers, Dieticians, Audiologists, and Business Professionals to join the CLASP team and either help State side or travel to Africa and help train graduate students in SLP and Audiology.

State Side Team:
This team assists with building the curriculum, and teaching graduate level courses via online Blackboard program. Many materials that must be gathered, researched, and created in order to run the each of the programs in Africa. Outside the masters program, we also build curriculum for the graduate school program practicum sites in which the student clinical hours are obtained. The clinics are conducted at various partner sites in Lusaka, Zambia and Nairobi, Kenya that were created and established 4 years ago. We conduct the following clinics:
Feeding Clinic Autism Clinic Speech Clinic Craniofacial Clinic Malnutrition Clinic Adult Clinic Community Outreach/assessments NICU training Hearing Clinic

Travel Team:
Thi! s team will travel on one of the 7 trips we send per year. The! y will work in the clinics seeing patients, most of whom have never been able to receive any type of rehabilitation. This team will also be involved with community outreach speaking with and educating families and parents about their children, what disabilities are, and beginning to break the myths that children with disabilities are curses.

Each trip costs approximately $4,000. One can choose the trip you wish to attend. The travel team also assists the State side team with curriculum building and development as the travel team will assist in teaching this curriculum when they are on the ground in Zambia or Kenya. Although the trips are only 2 weeks long, our stateside and travel teams commitment is for an entire calendar year. This would include continuing to help build and grow the curriculum, assist in fundraising, and helping CLASP reach even more children in Africa who are living with disabilities.

CLASP does not currently have a Master’s level pro! gram set up on the ground in Africa for Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy. Our current programs are only Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology, and NICU Nursing training. However, in the near future we envision starting master programs in order to train natives in OT and PT. Therefore, we need your help to begin envisioning this and designing the curriculum for the programs. There are no designated OT and PT trips, you may choose whichever you like.

Flight- $2265 Transportation (Buses)- $80 Lodging- $360 Meals- $120 Communications- $160 Programs- $1015 Total- $4000
