Description: Summerfield Day Nursery is looking of Apprentice Nursery Practitioner right now, this occupation will be placed in England. Detailed specification about this occupation opportunity kindly see the descriptions. The Apprentice will occasionally have to move between different age groups and their rooms. Flexibility will be required to ensure daily and weekly plans are followed. All ! legal requirements and the policies and procedures must be observed. Duties will include:
Help maintain and supervise the day-to-day activities within the nursery and the outside environment
Ensure the general safety and cleanliness of the children at all times
Develop positive relationships with parents, other staff and outside agencies
Assist with the supervision of children at play and at mealtimes
Assist with planning a programme of activities, suitable for the age range of the children
Maintain accurate and concise records
Demonstrate good practice with regard to special needs and inclusion
Learn about current developments in childcare and education policy and practice
Undertake a shared responsibility of the safety and cleanliness of the nursery
Ensure a high standard of personal appearance
Work in accordance with policies and procedures set out by the nursery
P! articipate in staff meetings and training sessions to extend o! wn education and skills
Assess and monitor and support the progress of the individual child, keeping up to date records

The National Minimum Wage (NMW) for Apprentices is per hour from October 2013. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time! spent training.
