We are seeking someone who must be able to work within the nursing team and lead a group of care staff to ensure a high standard of care to service users. To ensure that our clients Mission Alive core values are incorporated into all aspects of care. The Successful candidate must hold current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council and have previous experience in elderly care, with Evidence of team working skills as well as ability to work using own initiative. Our client is seeking to appoint a Full or Part time Registered Nurse to give support to the unit Leader in managing a nursing unit on a day to day basis.

As a Registered Nurse you will:

  • Work within a nursing team and lead a group of care staff to ensure a high standard of care to service users.
  • Be responsible for assessing service user needs, planning, implementation and evaluation of care programmes which are evidence based utilising all available resources taking into consideration the lifestyle, gender and cultural background and ensure involvement with the service user, family, carers and significant others.
  • Maintain high standards of care for all service users based on a person focused care approach to care planning.
  • Conduct Audits on Medication, Environment, Health & Safety, Bedrails, Pressure Sores, Accidents, Incidents and maintain records for Inspection across units as requested.
  • Adhere to the regulations concerning the Registration and Inspection of Care Homes whilst ensuring that staffs adhere to policies.
  • Promote social activities and 1:1 for service users in the Home.
  • Act in a professional manner at all times and to uphold Our clients Care Charitable Trust policies and procedures.
  • Plan and implement a high standard of care for service users, which is evaluated monthly or sooner if changes occur and maintain Care Plans and other records on Caresys.
  • Maintain stock levels of disposables and other items as needed and maintain effective records.
  • Admit new service users and complete the appropriate documentation and Care Plan.
  • Act as the designated First Aider as needed.
  • Ensure that a safe environment and a contented life style is maintained for service users in accordance with Our clients House Philosophy of Care.
  • Empower service users to take responsibility for their health, well-being and lifestyle by practising an inclusive and transparent approach, thereby ensuring service users have the relevant information to participate in decisions about their care.
  • Act as a role model for nurses and carers by representing the values and beliefs of the nursing profession as well as that of clients House.
  • Continue to develop leadership skills and provide leadership when required.
  • Provide Mentorship for nursing students in conjunction with the education link nurse. Provide mentorship for carers undertaking NVQ.
The ideal Registered Nurse will hold the following skills and experiences:
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Registered Nurse 1 with current PIN.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Bureau check.
  • Previous Elderly Care experience.
  • Evidence of further training or qualification.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Sound working knowledge of Care Quality Commission 2010, Essential standards of quality and safety.
  • Flexible approach.
  • IT literate - working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to supervise, lead and develop staff.
In return you will receive £10.81 - £13.85 per hour dependant on experience.

The position will be subject to 2 satisfactory references and an enhanced CRB check
