Reception Class Primary Teaching Assistant needed in Cambridge

We are working with a fantastic Primary School in the heart of Cambridge to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work in their Reception Class in a long term role on a full time basis.
This role is due to start in September 2023 and is a full time position working as a general classroom assistant for Reception.

The role of a Teaching Assistant is a varied one and is a fantastic opportunity for those who are looking to start their path into an Education Career
We are looking for a candidate ideally with experience in a similar role although experience in a day nursery, youth group or care background would also be considered.

Responsibilities
- Assist the teacher in implementing lesson plans
- Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization
- Observe students’ behavior and develop classroom discipline
- Create and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment
- Assess students’ skills and progress and submit reports to parents
- Collaborate with other teachers to help improve children’s learning experience
- Track student progress and submit reports to parents
- Follow all safety and health codes and requirements of the school district
- Comply with all policies, procedures, and guidelines established by the school district
Experience
- Previous experience working with Primary aged children
- Experience working with SEND pupils would be an advantage
- Working knowledge of the Primary Curriculum preferred (or willing to learn)
- Basic math skills preferred
- Ability to work well with others
