I am urgently recruiting a Qualified Band 7 Occupational Health Nurse, to work full time hours in the NHS in Durham. This contract position is available for a minimum of 3 months and requires a! Senior Occupational Health nurse to manage a fairly new clinical nursing team.
As Occupational Health nurse you will assist in the co-ordination and delivery of a comprehensive Staff Health and Wellbeing Service to employees and Trainees. The post holder would be expected to contribute to the on-going development, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of this NHS service.
Some of the main duties and responsibilities are:
- Support the delivery of the Health and Wellbeing agenda to ensure Staff Health & Wellbeing becomes a key trust priority.
- Provide specific advice, education and support to employees.
- assess an individual’s physical, psychological, social health needs and make a decision on suitability to perform work tasks
- plan and implement return to work programmes
- collect data, audit and evaluate work activities
- communicate and work in partnership with both NHS and non-NHS organisations
- Able to demonstra! te total confidentiality
- Provision of nursing care in accordance with NMC code of conduct
- Able to demonstrate professional autonomous decisions
- Basic Counselling skills
- Able to work on a number of projects at any one time
- IT skills
- Able to demonstrate effective communication skills â€" oral and written
- Able to demonstrate effective time management, organisational skills & prioritising skills
- Presentation skills
- Able to work effectively with members of the Staff Health & Experience of working in NHS/ OH
- Experience of working without direct supervision
- Experience of working with employees at all levels of an organisation
- Experience of working with clinicians and multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience of staff management
