We are seeking a motivated, experienced enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our clients dedicated Ophthalmology Service at ! their acute hospital site in North London.

Duties of the post
To be responsible for the management and leadership of the Ophthalmology Team comprising of clinical and non-clinical colleagues and act as service co-ordinator.
To work within the Service working as an independent Practitioner with their own patient profile in consultant led clinics.
Assist in the development of a new outpatient community based ophthalmology service.
Assess, manage, investigate and discharge designated patients independently using appropriate equipment including slit lamp, diagnostic lenses.
Be responsible for a delegated budget
Recruitment and selection process for the nurs! ing team
To plan and deliver educational programmes f! or staff
Initiate and carry out nursing audit, working with members of the nursing team and participate in hospital and department audit

Person requirements
Registered Nurse with full NMC registration (not requiring a period of Supervised Placement)
Significant post registration Ophthalmology experience.
Completion post-graduate qualification in Ophthalmology.
Knowledge of the Care Standards Act and Care Quality Commission Requirements
Eligibility to undertake employment in the UK (not requiring ‘work-permit’ sponsorship)
