Randstad Care are currently recruiting for a Residential Care Manager/Head of Care to support the Residential unit for a Special Educational Needs School is Aylesbur! y. The school is maintained by the Buckinghamshire Local Authority, working to support secondary aged children with a range of learning difficulties. The school is developing a specialism in communication and interaction disabilities as well as Autism spectrum conditions.
The School
The school are looking for someone to start as soon as possible, to take on the role for the minimum of 3 months. The candidate would be expected to work on average a 40 hour week, Monday to Friday. Whilst the hours are fairly flexible, the candidate must be able to commit to doing 1 sleep-in a week. Whilst the school can accommodate for up to 70 pupils, there is currently a relatively small staff team, and only 12 children using the boarding facilities.
Qualifications
It is essential the right candidate has an NVQ Level 4, and most ideally, a Registered Managers Award.
Experience
The Ideal candidate will have worked in a managerial role in a residential setting and have ! an excellent understanding of Ofsted regulation and an underst! anding of the national minimum requirements. Although not essential, experience working with individuals, ideally children, on the autism spectrum would be advantageous.
Depending on experience it is likely that the role will pay between GBP 14-17 per hour.
