Description: TXM Healthcare is currently seeking to employ Locum Band 5 Staff Nurse (Medical Unit) right now, this vacancy will be placed in England. TXM Healthcare currently have a requirements for 2 experienced Band 5 staff nurse to be part of a medical Unit for a leading hospital based in the Channel Islands. ! The position will be for 4 months as a locum nurse with a view of extending.
The Medical wards within the hospital provide care for a variety of medical conditions â€" such as endocrine, cardiac, pulmonary, renal, haematological and malignant conditions. The unit has a total of 44 beds, with care provided by a multidisciplinary team, which includes OT, physio, social work, psychologist and specialist nurses.
Duties:
- Be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care for patients
- Deliver care in accordance with current ward philosophy
- Adhere to policies, procedures and guidelines contained within the Health and Social Services Policy Folders
- Under the direction of the nurse in charge regularly act as ward co-ordinator
- Take charge of the ward and supervise nursing staff on a regular basis
- Act as a clinical supervisor and preceptor to develop skills of first a! nd second level nurses, and nursing auxiliaries
- Act a! s a key figure in assisting new staff complete orientation and induction programmes.
As a Band 5 nurse you will also be expected Demonstrate an understanding of the role of Team Leader and provide professional support to the post holder, In the absence of the Team Leader, co-ordinate and provide leadership to the team. Also Demonstrate an understanding and provide professional support to key members of the multi-disciplinary team.
