Band 6 Sister / Charge Nurse
Here within the Surgical Care Group at University! Southampton NHS Trust (UHS) we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Acute Surgical Unit (ASU) team as a Band 6 Sister / Charge Nurse. The team provide rapid clinical assessment for acute surgical patients directly admitted from the Emergency Department, GP Admissions and Ward Attenders.
You will be managing a team of associate practitioners and staff nurses and working closely together with our Acute Care Multi Professional Team. This innovative approach will be leading the way in enhancing the acute surgical admissions pathway for our acute emergency patients here at UHS. This is a pivotal UHS service which is working closely with the Emergency Department to improve the patient experience for the emergency surgical patient.
Candidates should be forward thinking, have the ability to manage a team and demonstrate a sound innovative leadership style alongside advanced clinical assessment skills. The ability to manage a team in an evolving enviro! nment and demonstrate excellent communication, decision-making! and motivation skills are key qualities. You will need to demonstrate continuing professional development and a strong commitment to developing others and have an understanding of how to improve and provide safe, quality care for patients and their relatives.

Requirements include at least 3 years post registration experience in an acute surgical / critical care environment or emergency department and working towards achieving your! degree pathway.
