We are looking for an experienced person who shares our creativity, energy, and passion for developing sport & health opportunities for Redbridge residents.
The post holder will manage the Active 4 Life coordinator, including setting yearly targets and monitoring performance. You will be responsible for developing and delivering a number of high quality projects that works towards increasing physical activity levels, including the Golden Years project, Work Place Health programmes and Community Fit Club.
This is a development role w! hich requires strong levels of creativity and considerable cap! acity to network and broker partnerships. You will work closely with school nurses and the Healthy Weight Team to develop and deliver activities that contribute to the proactive follow-up of children as part of the local delivery of the National Child Measurement Programme. You will be proactive in contributing expert sport and physical activity advice, guidance and support to address local needs including working closely with local leisure providers and other health and social care professionals to support schools in developing a whole-school approach to increase physical activity among children and young people, whilst achieving public health outcomes.
The role requires a highly proactive individual with sophisticated interpersonal and leadership skills, who is able to work collaboratively with schools, children centres and community groups to develop and establish high quality innovative projects that meet the need of the users. You should have experience of dev! eloping sport and health initiatives and a good understanding of national strategies to increase participation levels at a local level.
You should also have experience of leading on consultation, be able to examine and evaluate projects and ensure recommendation are put in place to continue to deliver an excellent service. Additionally you will have experience in identifying and securing external funding through multi partner initiatives, as well as preparing business plans and managing external grants.
Educated to degree level or holding an equivalent qualification and experience, you must demonstrate strong organisation, communication, IT and budget management skills.
