Further informations about this position opportunity kindly see the descriptions. A Deputy Manager / Senior Nurse is required for my client in SW London (by New Malden). A salary of up to £30,000pa is available, with further weekend hours supplement.

The home is very well run, prov! iding a ‘family home’ atmosphere, with a priority to keep everyone safe and well, but also assist each person to live their lives to the full, whether it’s through getting involved in daily domestic activities such as cooking and gardening, socialising with friends and family or undertaking a variety of activities both in the house and out in the community.

The Deputy Manager will take the lead in delivering the highest quality medical and nursing care as well as taking responsibility for specific aspects of the management function and deputising for the Home Manager. The role is roughly 60% hands on, delivering care to the residents in full nursing shifts; then 40% management to ensure the smooth running of the home. Further role requirements include:
1. To be responsible for the production of suitable policies, procedures and guidelines in relation to healthcare for the home and to ensure their implementation.
2. To be responsible for all medical an! d other equipment in the home ensuring that all equipment is s! atisfactorily maintained and appropriate records kept.
3. To be responsible for the performance management of the team of Nurses, conducting appraisal and supervisions.
4. To take lead responsibility for liaison with the Community Health Team, GP and other Health services, ensuring that their expertise is appropriately.
5. To work closely with Senior Support Workers in the development and implementation of person centred plans for residents.

The right candidate will ideally have strong clinical experience, either in hospital wards, nursing homes or a combination. Competence and a history in team management is key; as is confidence in written and verbal communication. A nurse manager is required who will lead with authority, liaise well with other local NHS service providers and show the extra level of care and dedication required for this unique home.
