TLA Permanent are currently working with a leading Health Insurance Provider who are looking to recruit a Nurse Advisor to join their Clinical Risk team for a 12 month fixed term contract.
The ideal candidate will come fr! om an Oncology or HDU/ITU nursing background and be looking for a new direction in their career where you can still utilise your clinical knowledge.
The role will involve managing cases for people with complex health issues, some PMI experience would be of benefit but is not essential.
The candidate will need:
Excellent organisational skills, showing an ability to prioritise and manage own workload in a pressured environment.
Ability to make correct/informed decisions on non-standard cases based on agreed guidelines and own knowledge.
Ability to confidently challenge and negotiate on treatment delivery and costs, balancing achievement of maximum possible savings with customer service being aware of when challenging costs would be inappropriate.
Ability to accurately review and assess claims - updating claims system as appropriate.
An understanding of when and how to seek advice from other Specialist areas, Technical Claims, Medic! al Advisors / Officers as required.
Excellent communicatio! n skills, both verbal and written showing an ability to provide information, explanation and guidance about complex claims issues to customers, providers and staff members in lay mans terms.
Displaying sensitivity when dealing with emotional and challenging claims
