An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of national ! pilot scheme led by Health Education England for up to 200 aspiring Nurse Students to get real, paid caring experience for up to one year as a Health Care Assistant before entering undergraduate nursing education. As part of this pilot, Health Education East of England will be recruiting 50 Health Care Assistants across Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. The post will be a fixed term 12 months as a Health Care Assistant in a variety of settings and will require a willingness to undertake a program of learning during this contract.
Participants in the pilot will have the opportunity to:
- Be a pioneer in a new learning opportunity for people who want to go to University to train as a Nurse
- Get paid to gain vital experience of caring for patients on the front line of the NHS
- Find out whether a caring career really is right for you
- Be supported in your application for University to train as a Nurse
- You must be an aspiring Nurse
- You should be looking to apply to University to train to be a Nurse â€" you should, or will, be able to meet the academic criteria for University *
- You should have no or little experience of caring â€" you shouldn’t have already worked in a patient facing role in the NHS or within a care setting.
- You will agree to being part of the pilot evaluation so we can understand the impact of the experience on you
