Applications are invited for a Research Nurse to help recruit and assess patients with asthma and COPD for various studies that will be performed within the Asthma Lab and the Biomedical Research Unit at the Royal Brompton Hospital. The Clinical Research Nurse will be involved in the administration of questionnaires, carrying out lung function tests such as spirometry and bronchial hyper-responsiveness, and performing venepunctures to obtain blood samples from patients with asthma and COPD.

The Clinical Research Nurse will be responsible for recruiting patients, scheduling visits ! of patients, performing various breathing tests, recording inf! ormation and data to computer data bases, and participating in regular laboratory meetings. The post holder may participate in the running of clinical studies and trials in collaboration with other Research Nurses and Clinical Research Fellows.

You will be joining a thriving group of dynamic, enthusiastic and dedicated scientists, students, doctors and research nurses with a shared mission to combat the enormous global health burden of respiratory infections. You will also have an honorary contract with Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

You must be a registered nurse with post-registration experience. Experience in respiratory medicine, patient recruitment and previous (clinical) research experience would be an advantage. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills, be able to work autonomously and as part of a team.

The post is full time, fixed term until 31 July 2014 and is based at the Royal Brompton Campus.
