Description: This is a fantastic opportunity to join our world-class team of Hair Transplant Surgeons and professional and enthusiastic team of Medical Technicians, based in the Hair Transplantation Depart! ment at Dolan Park Hospital .
You will support the Registered Nurses and Consultant Surgeon in providing and delivering an exceptionally high quality of patient care as well as fantastic, life-changing results, for which Ziering Medical is renowned. You will be responsible for monitoring patient’s pre and post operative who have undergone a procedure. The procedure is carried out with local anaesthetic. Your main duty will be splitting the hair follicles (grafts) in order for them to be transplanted into the patient's scalp.
You must have good eye-sight (with or without glasses/contact lenses), as accuracy with cutting the grafts essential. You will assist with the stocking up of clinical areas and disposing of equipment and waste as required.
You should have an NVQ Level 1, 2 or 3 in Care or be working towards it and previous experience of working within a similar role within healthcare.

JOB PURPOSE:
The Medical Technician will be accounta! ble and responsible to the Nursing Managers. Providing a high ! standard of care and commitment to Hair Restoration department.
The Medical technician will be professional at all times taking appropriate care in their appearance, grooming and manner. ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Help set- up for the Surgical team and monitor autoclave times. Change water after each client, maintaining sterility.
• Record patients details and medication used. To have knowledge of the drugs used.
• Be aware of the client in the Theatre and respect cultural, regulations and holistic needs.
• Assist in monitoring pulseoximetre an B.P. ( Parameters of abnormal and normal ranges understood) and record accurately.
• Assistant doctor whilst acquiring donor strip ( again high standards of

sterility).

• To obtain good quality donor strip ( gain high standards of sterility).
• To obtain good quality follicular grafts and communicating with other team members.
• Offer an opinion should there be an! y concerns during procedure to the nurse manager. ( On duty)
• Following procedures to clean theatre and instruments as per protocol.
• To attend training and further learning which is relevant to the job i.e. Resuscitation, manual handling fire procedure and company policies, ie sharps policy, infection control and complaints.
• Accountable to theatre supervisor in absence of nurse manager. Delegated to senior theatre technician in the absence of theatre supervisor .
• Have appraisal every six months to assess skills and opportunities.
• Be responsible when following duty rota and discuss with nurse manager over any problems. Following contracted hours, which will include some Saturdays and when the business requires.
• Communicate sickness relevant to organisational needs.
• Where the nursing manager is unable to resolve an issue it should be taken to the personnel manager and should further discussion be required to HR and! the company director.
• Be aware of the role and strive to acqu! ire the best knowledge and understanding. To be an active team member and achieve optimum job satisfaction.
• To take responsibility for personal and professional development.
• To be aware of national and local initiatives and issues that may impact on the role domain.
• To ensure through safe working conditions the health and safety and welfare of all staff, colleagues and visitors, and comply at all times with health and safety policies and procedures.
