Description: London Borough of Bromley is presently looking of Unit Manager right now, this position will be placed in England. More details about this position opportunity please give attention to these descriptions. A vacancy has arisen in one of the London Borough of Bromley’s Extra Care Schemes. There are four Extra Care schemes within the Bromley Borough supported by in-house staff.

This is a demanding! and varied post which requires a person with excellent people and management skills. You will also need to hold a Registered Managers Award (RMA) or have a management qualification (NVQ4 in Management) as a minimum. Ideally you will have come from an elderly care or nursing background or be able to show that you have a desire to ensure Quality Services are delivered within a cost effective framework.

You must also be able to use a computer which will incorporate using Word, Excel and email systems.

The tenants and their families require a high standard of care and support and many of the tenants have complex needs due to disability and are typically aged from 55 upwards.

You will be expected to line manage staff, who are permanent, casual or agency, and, who work on a 24/7 basis and who provide the care, support and care planning to a group of thirty tenants. Problem solving and liaison work with GPS, Care Managers, District Nurses and other prof! essionals from the medical and Social care professions involve! d with the tenants care and support is an integral part of the role. The role expects the manager to undertake the full range of management responsibilities: management and investigations of complaints, sickness /Absence management, supervision and recruitment and selection of staff.

Extra Care Housing is seen a direct alternative to residential care and the tenants vary from having few care or support needs to those requiring an intensive level of care and support including end of life care. The service does support tenants who have Learning disabilities, Dementia and those with long term mental health difficulties.

Extra Care is registered with CQC as Domiciliary Care service and the manager will be responsible for ensuring that the relevant standards are met and that the person-centred care plans are managed and reviewed by the staff.

The manager has a responsibility for providing housing management support (under a managing agent agreement) on! behalf of the landlord of the Scheme, in this case, Affinity Sutton. However the main role is to provide support, supervision, direction and Quality Monitoring to the work the staff do.

The managers in Extra Care provide on call support to the service at weekends on a rotational basis.
